This is strange. I only did a couple parts of the 5 part competition, but they not only awarded me the $22 scoop ticket for completing the challenge, they also gave me a $109 ticket for doing "such a good job."

Strange, but I'll take em, I love free money.

Poker from the Rail Tourney

Ran pretty good/lucky in the first Poker from the rail tourney and came away with 3rd. No TOC seat, but enough cash to pay for the rest of the BBT5. So I got going for me, which is nice.

I was pretty intimidated by my starting table which had twoblackaces, Loretta and a few others.

Things started out pretty slow, was down to just under 2K. Early position min-raised (uh oh) and small blind called so I called from the big blind as well w/ Qd7d. Flop was 77Q. Can you say bingo. Anyway all three of us got it all in. I was up against AA and A7. Wallah ! a triple up to over 6K and I could start playing some poker.

From there I can't remember any big hands, I just chipped up at about the same rate as the average stack increased.

I ran into a major snag as we approached the final table, I ran out of Busch Light. I believe that may have cost me the ToC seat. At the final table I should have gone out about 6th but my AJ > JJ and I improved a couple more spots before bowing out.

6:40 - 1 beer down. End of level 1 Hold-em. 2870 chips. During the level.....

My opening table I had cemfredmd, pirate lawyer, champsampson, muhctim, jeciimd and myself. All good players from what I know (with the exeption of perhaps me).

Kinda quiet in here, gotta fire up some BDR.

For omaha h/l, the tables re-balanced and I was moved now I have:

6:50 - Still on Beer 2. End of Omaha. 2900 chips.. During the level.....

Not much to report, played only one hand, had AA8x. Flop 677, Turn 7. No takers.

7:00 - Just started Beer 3. End of Stud Hi. 2545 chips. During the level.....

Ugh. Stud Hi is my worst game. Okay, so the pot was raised by a queen. I also show a queen and have 1 hidden. So I reraise, and bet out every street. Brick, brick, brick, brick. Sophie2002 wins with 10s and 8s. This may be a short live blog. NO, I WILL COME BACK.....maybe.

7:10 - Still on Beer 3. End of stud h/l. 2490 chips. During the level.....

Split one pot with LJ. I had 7 low w/ 2 pair, unfortunately no straight. She had aces showing and also a pair of 7's.

NYRPS #12 and Blogger Tourney Satellites

Was first loser in NYRamblers poker series last night. I was able to take out the gracious host in the first round. Got a 2-1 chip lead on him, then he reversed it, then I won a big hand to put me way up. Finally was able to finish him off. Second round I drew someone named Kazor. I also got up on him 2-1, but alas, it was not to be. He steadily beat me to a pulp. At least I lost to the eventual winner,...... I guess.

Us bankroll challanged people should find a way to satellite into the blogger tournies, especially with the upcoming BBT4, and I have mine. The 50 cent rebuy satellite to the double duece. I've played three of them in the last couple days and won 2 seats. Unregister, and poof, almost 4 blogger buy-ins for the bargain basement price of $7.30. Can't beat that.

Sure, it was the last cash position in both tourneys but cash is cash. I coasted into the money on both, that is a huge hole in my game. Given the opportunities I have to stay aggressive to have a chance at the bigger cashes at the expense of just weasaling in the the cash.

Oh well, at least in two days I got may name with winnings behind it on 3 blogger leaderboards.

Made a good run in the blogger skillz game. My high stack was about 6K but a gave some back and ended up at the final table 5th. Then I took out a couple and lucked my way into the final three.

The final three was back and forth. Each of us had the chip lead several times. I almost went out 3rd but was saved by what I believe was a 2 outer on the river. Then jeciimed got low and was taken out by PL. Then on one of the first hands of heads up, I turned a baby full house and slow played and luckily got all the chips in without getting beat.

Plus I knocked out 7 players for some additional cash.

What in the bloody hell am I doing playing in a $55 tourney? Sure its a matrix and you have to be pretty damn unlucky not to break even, but still. It was 4 in the AM on a frickin school night. -Expectation: compete with the Angels for the AL West Title
-Result: 61 - 101 - Last in the division. First team to lose 100 games with payroll over $100 million.
-Bright side - Fired everyone and starting over. At least we're not the Yankees, first team to miss the playoffs with a payroll over $200 million.

NBA - Seattle Sonics
-Expectation: Acquire funding for a new or renovated arena.
-Result: One-way ticket to Oklahoma City. 41 years of history and Seattle's only championship gone.
-Bright side - None whatsoever, thoroughly pissed off the NBA and Stern so we won't get another team for a long time, never drink Starbucks again.

College Football - Washington Huskies
-Expectation: Finally show improvement in Willingham's 4th year and approach a .500 record.
-Result: 0 - 12. enuff said.
-Bright side - New coach Sarkisian from USC, hopefully brings some Trojan mojo with him.

NFL - Seattle Seahawks
-Expectation: Win the increadibly weak NFC West for the 5th concecutive time.
-Result: 4 - 12
-Bright side: Hopefully this was an anomoly due to a wide variety of injuries and we'll be back on top next year.

Summary - Worst sports year for any city, ever. Let me know if you think different.

While here in Minneapolis visiting the brother's family for a late x-mas over new years, I played a couple $5-45mans during the nieces nap time. The first I bubbled the final table. The second I was able to make it to the final table 4th in chips.
After some knock-outs and on tremendous suck-out by me (runner runner straight with AJ against KK), I made it to heads up. On just the second or third hand, I was put to this decision.

This guy was overly agreesive the whole tournament, him being at my table for the majority, his stack was up then down then up then down then up throughout the tourney. So I made what turned out to be the right decision and called for the rest of my chips and look what it got me:

Ah well, another bridesmade but still a cash which put me at my all time full tilt high.

Dont get me wrong, I'm still down overall after making numerous $50 deposits over the years.

Signed up for the famous Mookie tonight. I thought to myself, "self, it's a blogger tournament, wouldn't you feel better about yourself if you blogged?" And I'm like "Yeah", and self it like "so do it."

So I'll do myself a favor and live blog the Mook. I don't have any readers, but it was fun just now going back and reading the few entries I've have made.

I have a bounty on Hoyazo. It's just a personal bounty. If I take him out, I'll go shopping and buy myself something nice.

Just playing some mini-cash games trying to make the buy-in so it feels like a freeroll. I'd feel better that way, since I don't have much chance at a run against the expert bloggers. Whoa, getting close, neet to get some smokes and head to da bar.

Tried a $6 - 6 person sit-n-go to get a token for the MATH. Came in 2nd won $10. Tried again for $8 - 18 person, winner !!! Too late to join tonights MATH. At lease I have one for next week now. So it cost me what? About $5, cool.

So, I was feeling good about my OMHL game after the Riverchasers so I played some heads up and won the first two. Then ran to the store for smokes. Came back, signed in and played a few more, not paying attention cause I'm so good. kept hitting the rematch, not realizing I'm playing just Hi. Damn beer, took me a few games to figure it out. Jeezes Cristmas. I'm the bastard.

Wow, no time to post, too much beer while making final table. Finished 7th. Good times. Went all in on ok hand, blinds too big, I think I had A3 suited and another low. Nothin, Nothin, Nothin. LPR rocks. Only my 4th or 5th tourney, finally ahead of the other non-cash guys. Bastards.

Wow, made it to the second break of Riverchasers. Think I'm currently 11th, a little under average, twenty something left. Omaha H/L, who would have thunk it.

Got down to about 1400 chips, All in freeroll with TuscaloosaJohn w/ A234, I had diamonds and two flopped, but ended up chopping. That would have helped. Then I swept w/ nut flush. Up to 8000+.

I'm sure I'll be right back to post my bust out hand.

Just got back from a visit to Mom's. She overcompensates for the work she makes me do around her house with a trip to costco for a year's supply of Easy-Mac. (I'm no Gourmet). Always great to visit.

Going to give it a try. I've studied everyone's blogs and know exactly how they play, should be a cakewalk (not).

Lost my first big pot to Buddy Dank. Had KJs flopped top jacks. Turned out he had kings - oops.

6:08pm Got some back, limped with a5s flopped and ace and held. Then flopped top set of queens, bet out because flush draw on board, no takers, maybe should have slow-played? Now at 2725.

6:20 Lost some more; raised with 10s. 9 high flop. Folded to all in on turn when any 8 would make a straight. Good thing, he showed one. Down to 2120.

6:23 AJ rules! Flopped top pair, two callers. Worried about straight or overpair but it held at showdown. Now 3140.

6:35 Hanging in there, nothing to play. 2810. Those I recognize (from reading blogs ) at my table are cmitch, Loretta8 and Buddy Dank (tuned in right now). Oh and I've also heard of blinders.

6:43 Lucky hand, flopped a pair of 10s, thought other guy had flush draw, he kept betting out. I just called him down, didn't want to commit too much. Turned out he had pocket 6's. Up to 3500.

6:51 Bluff reraised with just A high after flop. Turns out I wasn't bluffing, it was checked the rest of the way and I won. WoW. Now 4620.

6:54 Called 2 shorty all ins with AJh after A high flop, 2 spades. One was on the draw the other had A6. Another 6 on the turn (no spades came) and I'm down to 2395. Darn, that would have put me among the chip leaders. Instead I'm 52nd of 64 - Avg is 4190. Time for another bud light.

Made it to first break w/ 2295. Changed tables now with Waffles, Lucko, Jeciimd, BamBam, Katitude, WWonka69 and cemfredmd. Easy !!!

7:13pm Just re-raised w/ AA and Schaubs jammed w/ QQ. No queen and I'm up to 5250. Wheee.

7:15pm Schaubs reraised all in again, I called w/ A10o. He had 77. Flopped a 10 but he rivered a straight. Oh, well. Down to 3584. It's fun hearing Buddy call the action !!!! Hey, play my requests.

7:21pm Called Dr J's all-in w/ AK. Lost the race, down to 1454

7:32pm Damn, looking to go all-in but getting absolute crap. Did once with KJs and got the blinds.

7:39pm Finally, folded to me on the button w/Q10o so I went in. Ran into Waffles KK. Had fun. Maybe next time.

7:08pm - 3000 chips. Tied for 1st !!!!!!

7:09pm - First hand AQo. Guy before me min raised I called as did 2 others. Flop QJ4 checked to me now last to act. Seemed good bet 3/4 pot and was raised by the guy before me. Not wanting to go out first hand w/TPTK I folded. Good thing he had QJ.

7:17pm - Wow got on a heater. Now have 7135 - 6th out of 76. Won a couple then last hand flopped my set of 2s and took out a guy who flopped top two. My first $.50 bounty !!!

7:37pm - Not much happening here. Heater in on the fritz, need to call the repairman. have 7390 - 10th of 56. Avg 4821.

7:38pm - JackAce rules. Flopped top and took out a guy w/ J9. Have 10,450.

7:43pm - PL Omaha High freeroll started. Have done okay in this before, cashed once.

7:50pm - Turned two little pairs from BB to pick up a big pot. Now at 14690 - 3rd of 45. Omaha starting table, there's only 3 present, trying to pick up dead money.

8:03pm - It's cold in here, hope the heater is fixed soon. Down to 13650 - 6th of 31. Omaha people showed up, I'm 502th of 1069.

8:08pm - Down to final three tables, at first break. I'm at 13,600 - 7th of 27. Avg is 10000. It turned into an all-in fest lately for the shorties and I haven't had cards to call. Gotta pee.

8:18pm - Out of Omaha 799th.

8:24pm - Finally won a hand. BB vs SB. 13,650 - 10th of 21.

8:26pm - Called a shorty all in and a call w/ AKo. Flopped air, had to fold to another pot bet. Down to final two tables, now below Avg.

8:20pm - Re-raised all-in w/ AKo and was called by shorty behind. Guy had 99, short had AKd. Turned ace, got best of it and bounty. Ohh, just won next hand too. Now 23658 - 3rd of 15. Don't spew you bastard !!

8:38pm - Raised from SB w/44, BB raised all-in, I called. He had 99. I flopped my set, he turned his. Now 7178 - 11th of 12.

8:46pm - Made final table & cash. 7th of 9 with 9978. Blinds are crazy high.

8:49pm - Lucky double up with my all in Reraise from BB w/ 67o, flopped 2 pair.

8:51pm - now 25156 - 4th of 7.

8:55 pm - just took out a shorty. Now 27421 - 3rd of 4. But 80000 away from 2nd.

9:00 pm - yep, busted out in 3rd. Ran Q10s out of BB into A1oo. I was way short and had to do it. Still, 3rd good $31.50.

This blogging crap is hard. What's the best way to add screen prints in this sucker?

Playing the Mook !! First time trying to qualify for the freeroll. Made it to the first break playing like the donkey calling station that I am. Picked off a couple bluffs and probably folded to fuckin' 10 of 'em. And, of course my couple of bluffs aren't worth shit.

4555 in chips 29th out of 82 left. Started with 114 I think. Biggest stack went down recently and is 10,810.

Will update you all (or actually just me since no one knows about, likes or gives a shit about my blog (don't blame them)) next break or when I'm knocked out (most likely).

At lease I won the buy in on the side at .25/.50 while playing. Freeroll baby !!
